Is it a supermoon
No. At full moon the Moon will be about 368,900 km from Earth. That distance changes during the month from about 356,000 to 407,000 km, and a supermoon is a full moon close to the nearest point of the orbit. October’s full moon sits roughly in the middle, so it will look normal, although still striking as it rises.
The Hunter’s Moon
That is the North American name for the October full moon. It is the first full moon after the Harvest Moon, the full moon nearest the autumn equinox. In autumn the Moon rises at a similar time for several evenings in a row, just after sunset, which gave hunters long bright evenings.
The same weekend as the clock change
In the UK and the EU the clocks go back one hour on the night of 24 to 25 October. So on Sunday the Sun sets in London at 16:46 and the Moon rises at 16:04. In the US and Canada the clocks go back a week later, on 1 November. More on the daylight saving time page.
