Air quality today around the world
The map shows how clean the air is right now in each city, compared with World Health Organization guidelines. Pick a country for its own map and ranking, or a city for a 48-hour smog forecast.
World air quality map
Dot colour is the average forecast for the next 24 hours compared with WHO guidelines (the worst of PM2.5, PM10 and NO₂ counts). These are model values for an area of about 25 x 25 km, not station readings.

FAQ
How is air quality measured here?
For most cities we use NASA's GEOS-CF forecast model, which estimates pollution over a grid of about 25 km. For Poland we show live readings from official monitoring stations.
What do the colours mean?
Green means pollution within WHO guidelines, yellow up to twice the guideline, orange up to four times and red more than that.
How often is the data updated?
The NASA forecast is refreshed once a day and each page picks the value for the current hour. Polish station readings arrive every 30 minutes.
